Message came from a user using Outlook client against an Exchange server.

Exchange server connected via SMTP to aDomino host which is behind a firewall, but the firewall passes connections to port 25 of the ip of this host directly through to it. In other words there is no intermediate SMTP host and nothing very funny going on.

My Domino host does do a virus check using Trend ScanMail, but it does that on every other inbound message and no other such message (so far) has exhibited this behaviour.

I may try and replicate the fault to see if I can find any clue.
